Della & Jackson
Della & Jackson’s Story
I can confidently say that Della & Jackson’s love story has been one of my favorites to incorporate into an engagement. However, I may be a bit partial.
I first met Della at a professional development book club, where we oddly learned we had the same job at the same company (designing jewelry at David Gardner’s Jewelers) but had never had overlapping hours. Since then, the rest is history! Della has been a constant friend since I met her that night. So when it came time for us to make our engagement ring-the pressure was on!
I have designed many engagement rings over the years, but none quite so special. Della wanted a simple pear solitaire. But we were not going to leave it at that. Designing with Della over the years, I knew she had a particular fondness for floral motifs. That fondness inspired the leafy shapes you see enveloping and supporting the diamond in the “head” of the ring. Della and I also attended the same church and she was my small group leader - so I knew faith was the center of her and Jackson’s relationship. The diamond floral motifs you see on the “cathedral” of the band each feature three diamonds. The three diamonds are meant to represent the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as a reminder of His presence in the couple’s life. Lastly, the aquamarine secret stone was a direct request from Della herself - as it is Jackson’s birthstone and serves to her as a representation of him.
I have never worked on such a special ring and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, how it told the couple’s story, and how much she loved it!
